Admission to the Program for Executive Development

Attending the PED program is ideal if you are an experienced manager who has recently transitioned or will soon transition into a business leadership/general management position. You want to boost your leadership capabilities and successfully manage organizational/transformational change.

PED brings you the opportunity to learn and grow with a highly diverse group of like-minded individuals. Typically participants are working as a function or department manager, or already managing a business, country or region.


The PED program takes place over 7 weeks in total, comprising:

Stage 1: Foundations for Business Leadership (FBL)

20 consecutive days

Stage 2: Transition to Business Leadership (TBL)

2 x 2 weeks on campus with inter-module support 


The flexible timetable means you can choose the best schedule to fit your needs. Programs must be followed in sequence.

Special cancellation and transfer conditions

In these exceptional and uncertain times, IMD is offering special cancellation and transfer conditions on our face-to-face Open Programs taking place until June 30, 2020; we will waive our normal related penalty fees for Open Programs that are scheduled to start by June 30, 2020.


IMD complies with applicable laws and regulations, including with respect to international sanctions that may be imposed on individuals and countries. This policy applies to all applications for IMD programs from individuals or organizations, and any commercial or non-commercial partnerships.

Attend Open Programs at IMD at a special rate. For NGOs and NPOs we offer a 50% incentive for attending Open Programs and for Public Sector there are special conditions with 25% or 50% rebate subject to GDP per capita* (25% above USD 20,000 GDP – 50% below USD 20,000).
